If you’ve been following along with COE’s recent facebook posts, it’s no secret that Ted Phelps of Imperative Reaction fame is producing, mixing and mastering Chamber of Echoes’ debut album “World of Silence”.
For those of you not familiar with Imperative Reaction, they are an electro-industrial band founded in 1996 by Ted Phelps and are signed to Metropolis Records. Hailing from Los Angeles, California, their music touches on genres of industrial rock, EBM, synthpop and futurepop, and they have had six releases to date. This isn’t the first time Ted has produced an act; System Syn, Inure, and recently signed Panic Lift are some of the few he has chosen to work with.
Production began in late April of 2012, and will wrap up this coming November. Klaryssa states, “This time around, I wanted to create music that was more danceable, and upbeat, with dare I say it a strong pop and dance influence. Think Trent Reznor meets Lady Gaga. I definitely went out of my comfort zone on this one, but I’m glad I did because now the music brings such a new message and energy that wasn’t there previously. It was a change for the better, and I think our fans will agree our new sound is more accessible, easily gets stuck in your head, and can cater to a wider audience making it more marketable.World of Silence is a full-length album that deals with the more positive subjects of self-identity, personal rights, sexuality, artistic expression, creative freedom, accepting differences, personal values, conviction in personal beliefs, and overriding social control. Themes of futuristic and post apocalyptic time periods are also present, as well as breaking boundaries and limitations in future-dystopian societies, lifestyles and institutions.”
After production completes later this year, the album will be submitted to labels for possible signing, and physical/digital distribution, which could halt the actual release date to early 2013, but it is worth the wait.
